Maintenance Mechanic / Technician

  • $39 /hr Posted May 20, 2026 Maintenance Mechanic Multiple Openings, Hiring for Tech levels 3-5 Sun Prairie, WI (Non-Union) $35
  • 39/hour based on experience 12 hour shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
They alternate running a 3 day and 4 day work weeks.
Position Summary:
We are seeking skilled Maintenance Mechanics to support a high-speed commercial food manufacturing facility in Sun Prairie, WI. This role is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting production equipment, and supporting plant reliability initiatives. Advancement is skill-based, not time-based.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems
  • Follow all food safety, OSHA, Lockout/Tagout, and
NFPA 70E
requirements
  • Complete work orders, PMs, and parts usage in the CMMS Support conveyors, motors, sensors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, ovens, mixers, baggers, and cartoners
  • Perform welding and fabrication (MIG, TIG, Stick as skill level increases)
  • Maintain shop organization and cleanliness
  • Participate in root cause analysis and reliability improvement efforts
  • Train and mentor technicians as skill level increases
Tech Level Structure:
  • Tech 3: Advanced mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, PLC/VFD exposure
  • Tech 4: Senior-level diagnostics, controls, mentoring
  • Tech 5: Expert-level troubleshooting, training, and root cause analysis Placement upon hire is based on demonstrated skills. Benefits Pay & Progression Advancement is based on demonstrated competency, not time based.
  • Tech 1: $30.85/hour
  • Tech 2: $33.15/hour
  • Tech 3: $35.20/hour
  • Tech 4: $37.75/hour
  • Tech 5: $39.00/hour Sign-On Bonus Eligible new hires may receive up to $5,000, paid as follows:
  • $1,000 after 3 months of continuous employment
  • $1,500 after 6 months of continuous employment
  • $2,500 after 12 months of continuous employment Shift Differential
