This position focuses on ensuring that all rental assets—including tables, seating, and custom decor—meet the highest aesthetic and structural standards. By expertly performing carpentry, welding, upholstery, and professional painting/refinishing, this specialist ensures our collection remains in "show-ready" condition for high-end events and luxury rentals. Duties and responsibilities The key functions include, but are not limited to the following: Perform carpentry tasks to construct and repair furniture and rental items. Perform expert carpentry to repair or modify wooden furniture and construct custom event rental items. Execute precision welding for the repair and fabrication of metal chair frames, table bases, and structural decor elements. Complete high-quality upholstery repairs on lounge furniture and dining chairs, ensuring fabric tension and finishing meet luxury standards. Perform professional-grade painting, staining, and touch-ups on various surfaces (wood, metal, plastic) to maintain a flawless finish on all inventory. Regularly inspect returning inventory to identify damage and proactively perform repairs to ensure items are ready for the next rental cycle. Safely operate and maintain a wide array of manual and power tools; manage shop supplies and inventory for repair materials. Coordinate with the production and warehouse teams to prioritize urgent repairs and meet tight event turnaround deadlines. Perform basic electrical maintenance and facility touch-ups as needed to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Adhere to all OSHA and company safety protocols, particularly when handling chemicals, welding equipment, and heavy machinery.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, a person must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements described below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. High school diploma or equivalent qualification. 2-4 years of experience in carpentry, welding, painting, and upholstery. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Proven experience in general maintenance tasks is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical specifications. Strong basic math skills to calculate measurements, angles, and dimensions for carpentry and upholstery tasks. Exceptional problem-solving skills for diagnosing and repairing equipment or structural/material issues. Basic computer skills for documenting maintenance tasks, updating work orders, and researching materials or repair techniques. Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods and move throughout a large warehouse facility The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. This position operates in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and moving equipment. The employee may occasionally be required to work in outdoor loading dock areas subject to varying weather conditions. Personal Protective equipment (PPE) including safety footwear, high visibility vests, and gloves is required in designated areas. Schedule flexibility is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
