Machining and Mechanical Repair Helper

A General Helper assists technicians with cleaning, disassembly, inspection prep, and shop organization. This is a hands-on role with growth potential Key Responsibilities Assist with disassembly and assembly of manual lathe Clean parts using solvents, parts washers, or ultrasonic cleaners Organize and label components for rebuild jobs Support technicians with bearing removal/installation prep Operate basic shop tools (hand tools, presses, etc.) Maintain a clean and safe work area Help with shipping/receiving (packing, unpacking cores) Follow shop procedures and safety guidelines Basic Skills & Requirements Mechanical aptitude (likes working with hands) Ability to lift 30-50 lbs Comfortable using hand tools Reliable, shows up on time Willing to learn and take direction Attention to detail (very important) Reliable transportation Preferred (but not required) Experience in a machine shop or automotive repair Familiarity with bearings, shafts, or precision parts Basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers)
