Job Description

Workroom Assistant About the Role We are a high-end custom window treatment and upholstery workroom looking for a motivated, hands-on Workroom Assistant to learn the trade from the ground up. This is a real opportunity to grow into a skilled craftsperson and installer. You will start by learning the fundamentals of upholstery and drapery fabrication, then expand into installations at luxury residential properties. No two days look exactly the same, and we want someone hungry to absorb everything this role has to offer.

Port Chester, NY 10573 | Full-Time, On-Site What You Get $52,000 - $55,000/year DOE PTO 401k with company match
Flexible Schedule:
M-F, 8:30a-4:30p or 9:00a-5:00p Comprehensive training What You Will Do Assist with upholstery and drapery fabrication including Operate fabrication equipment including table saws and other woodworking tools Bag, label, and organize finished work Receive and sort incoming packages Check and maintain inventory to ensure all materials are ready for the day's projects Assist with residential installations as needed at high-end client homes Hang window treatments and other fixtures using a ladder Move furniture, load and unload vehicles, and handle heavy items (60 lbs and up) Drive to job sites and run errands, including supply runs to vendors and stores Assist with day-to-day coordination and basic office tasks Communicate with clients and designers professionally Who We Are Looking For Proactive and self-directed; you show up ready to work and look for what needs to be done next Detail-oriented with a strong sense of craftsmanship and organization Comfortable in a fast-moving environment and willing to do whatever the day requires A team player who collaborates well and can take direction from multiple people Physically capable of lifting 60+ lbs, moving furniture, and working on ladders Tough-minded and adaptable; this is a hands-on trade environment Presentable and professional; you will be in luxury client homes and meeting designers Requirements Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle (required; driving is part of the daily routine) Comfortable with power tools and fabrication equipment, or eagerness to learn Strong communication skills Ability to work independently and stay on task without constant supervision Prior experience in upholstery, carpentry, construction, or a workroom setting is a plus, but not required.
