The Router Room Operator I will produce aircraft parts using shop tools, and standard aircraft materials at or above the expected standards of safety, quality, schedule and cost, using engineering and industrial definitions, procedures and guidelines that support the delivery to the aircraft for all aircraft models. Promote and foster a positive work environment and display a respectful attitude.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
(ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
): Will learn or be knowledgeable in one (1) CNC Machine below with emphasis on quality, consistency and safety 3 axis single table Start-up / Shut Down
Gerber Machine Work with 2D/3D data, company standards, work instructions, and perform necessary calculations using math to complete tasks related to making aircraft parts
Responsible for insert installation/preparation, edge fill application, panel skin repair, foam taping or fabricating burn coupons depending on Router Room assignment
Select and verify materials from stock to manufacture parts and maintain traceability of materials per process
Promptly inform team leader and maintenance of any unplanned machine down time (edge fill and insert laser)
Perform quality and self-checks of fabricated items per company procedures
Determine work to be accomplished, to complete assignments within established plans accordingly to expected standards of safety, quality, schedule and cost
Accurately log computerized labor data collection for time and attendance tracking
Create and attach parts identification labels to completed parts when applicable
Communicates and interacts well with co-workers and management
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety procedures
Support and propose continuous improvement to management and co-workers

(NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
): Perform all other duties as assigned MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Six (6) months of experience working with composite panel materials and adhesives
Must be proficient in all aspects of one (1) of the below with emphasis on quality, consistency and safety Insert preparation and installation
Edge fill flat and curved panels
Panel skin repair
Burn coupon fabrication process
ASP foam taping Willingness and aptitude to learn basic shop equipment.
Good mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine principles Good communication skills
Conscious of the importance of schedules and budgets and helps team achieve objectives
Basic computer skills
Able to use and work with common hand tools, table saws and sanders
Able to work with engineering and industrial definition using 2D/3D data, company standards and work instructions to complete the preparation of composite panels to support cabinet fabrication
Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
Visual capacity and muscular dexterity to work on fine detail, high-cost products with a minimum of errors and rework
Must be able to work with adhesives and chemicals
Must not be abnormally allergic to solvents, or other router related products that produce fumes or dust while using or in the vicinity.
Ability to solve practical problems when needed Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Understanding of logistical process and knowledge of Dynamo labels and FalconTrac WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical factory environment. May work in areas with high noise levels and limited climate control. May work in a confined space. Works with company's approved adhesives and chemicals. May encounter safety hazards such as mechanical hazards (moving machine parts) and health hazards (dust and fumes).
This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position because it includes as part of the essential job duties operating equipment and tools on a routine basis. Additionally, the duties of this position concern the service and completion of aircraft, and overall airworthiness of the aircraft. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety of this employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while performing safety activities.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The compensation for this position typically falls between $22.00 and $25.00 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for shift differential. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
