Job Description
We are a heavy civil grading contractor based in the Phoenix metro area seeking an experienced Finished Blade Operator with GPS proficiency to join our team on commercial and municipal grading projects across the Valley. Responsibilities Operate a motor grader to achieve specified finish grades on commercial pads, roadway subgrade, and parking lots. Utilize Trimble GPS machine control systems to maintain grade accuracy and minimize re-work. Set up and operate base and rover equipment independently in the field. Read and pull grade stakes to blue tops and cross-check against GPS control. Interpret civil grading plans, cross-sections, and detail sheets to execute work per design intent. Coordinate with grade checkers, surveyors, and scraper operators to sustain production flow. Operate safely in active job site conditions. Requirements Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience running a motor grader in a finish grade capacity. Proficiency with Trimble GPS systems required — must be able to operate base and rover independently and troubleshoot basic connectivity issues in the field. Must be able to read and interpret civil blueprints including grading plans, cross-sections, and drainage details. Strong ability to work to grade stake and GPS simultaneously and reconcile discrepancies between the two. Experience on commercial or municipal projects preferred. Must be willing and able to travel statewide — we operate on projects throughout Arizona and work location will vary. Valid driver's license required. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. What We Offer $32+/hr DOE. Consistent year-round work.
