Full Job Description Position Summary:
Cleans, deburrs, polishes, or grinds items of metal, plastic, or rubber by performing the following duties with relevant equipment. Deburrs or polishes parts. Mounts part on revolving spindle or chuck and holds or moves tools such as file, abrasive stone, or cloth against workpiece to file, grind, polish, or buff surface. Tumbles parts per work instructions with tumbling equipment. Cleans interior surfaces of holes. Changes tools on powered equipment. Applies abrasive compound, wax, or other dressing to facilitate cleaning or polishing operation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Prepping parts using: Grinders Files Sanders Other tools as needed Adhere to precise processes Take measurements Detect nonconformities Document actions by completing production and quality logs Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Experience and Education:
1-2 years of relevant experience High school degree or equivalent, plus advanced training
Technical Skills:
Excellent attention to detail Working knowledge of customer specifications and requirements Basic computer skills Problem solving abilities Ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc. Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions) Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player Understand and obey safety requirements Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time Capable of standing for long periods
