Non-Exempt Based in Atlanta Georgia, SAF is a leader in the architectural metal products market with six operating locations in Georgia, Indiana, Tennessee, California, and Texas. For more information about SAF see our website at www.saf.com. SAF is a family-owned and managed company 75 years strong. We distribute, fabricate, and finish (anodize and paint) aluminum and other products primarily for the commercial construction market. SUMMARY The Racker will begin his/her shift by reviewing the list of jobs due to be run during his/her shift. Rackers are required to check to make sure all material has been pulled, labeled, staged, and ready for racking on the anodizing line. This person will be responsible for reading part drawings, instructions, and specifications to make sure all material is racked correctly. Rackers are responsible for maintaining a high level of production throughput while processing the material accurately and efficiently, along with the un-racking, labeling, and staging for packaging. This person is also responsible for monitoring the quality of material entering and exiting the finishing line.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Read production instructions and interpret part drawings to ensure correct racking and piece counts. When un-racking the material QC the quality of the material processed before staging for the finishing department. Follows priorities according to production schedules. Enter problem reports in the computer as needed. Use proper racking technique for aluminum extrusion, sheet, and custom fabrication parts to prevent damage during finishing and optimize load capacity. When racking is slow be willing to help in the other departments like packing or maintenance. Recommend, implement, and support continuous improvement within the department and the company to improve employee performance, quality control, productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction. Support a proactive safety environment, with emphasis on good housekeeping.

REQUIREMENTS

Must score 3 or better on the ACT WorkKeys Assessments for Reading for Information.

- Ability to solve problems that require a single type of mathematics operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using whole numbers.
