Job Description

Join our precision sheet metal manufacturing team and help deliver high-quality products with expert grinding and deburring craftsmanship! Job Summary The Grinding/Deburring Operator will be responsible for performing grinding, deburring, and finishing operations on precision sheet metal components. This role ensures that parts meet exact specifications by removing sharp edges, burrs, and surface imperfections while maintaining quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Grinding & Deburring
  • Perform grinding, deburring, and edge-finishing operations using hand tools, power tools, and automated equipment. Remove burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections from sheet metal parts to meet customer and industry standards. Ensure consistent surface finishes according to blueprints, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Quality Control & Inspection
  • Conduct visual and tactile inspections of finished parts to verify smooth edges and defect-free surfaces. Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to confirm dimensional accuracy. Identify and report any defects, inconsistencies, or process improvements to supervisors.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Safety
  • Maintain and clean grinding, deburring, and finishing equipment to ensure optimal performance. Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE (gloves, safety glasses, respirators). Properly dispose of metal shavings, dust, and other debris in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines. Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with machine operators, welders, and inspectors to meet production goals. Assist in material handling and part organization within the finishing department. Support cross-training initiatives and assist in other production tasks as needed. Qualifications Education and Experience
  • 1+ year of experience in grinding, deburring, or metal finishing within a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience working in precision sheet metal fabrication is a plus. High school diploma or GED preferred. Sills & Competencies
  • Proficiency with hand grinders, deburring tools, and finishing equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Good manual dexterity and ability to handle small precision parts. Strong work ethics and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Requires standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., and performing repetitive tasks. Exposure to metal dust, noise, and varying temperatures in a production environment. Regular interaction with production, engineering, quality, and management teams. Use of PPE (gloves, safety glasses, respirators) required. Schedule

    6:00 AM
  • 2:30 PM, Monday
  • Friday Hours:
    2:15 PM
  • 10:45 PM, Monday
  • Friday Some flexibility may be required based on production needs Compensation
  • Hourly Rate:
    $18
  • $24 per hour Benefits include shared-cost health care, paid holidays, paid time off, and a 401(k) with company match after a waiting period.
