Job Description

Position Title:
Field Engineer McClone Construction Company (MCC) is a privately owned business that is proudly carrying forward a 50-year legacy of family-style culture and values. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Full-Time Field Engineer to join our field team. The Field Engineer is responsible for leading field layout operations, enforcing quality control, managing embedded items, and driving daily crew execution on structural concrete projects. This role focuses on the how, guiding the crew through precise execution based on MCC and contract drawings, while staying steps ahead to prepare work areas for formwork, rebar, and concrete placement. The following are general responsibilities for the position:
Responsibilities:
Perform field layout: establish grid lines, verify formwork locations and elevations Track, store, and assist in the installation of embedded items (delivery, storage, installation) Identify for the Foreman and crew where (size, elevation, location) concrete must be placed based on MCC and contract drawings Work with the Project Engineer on drawing updates and changes Complete and enforce Daily Task Plans and Pre-Task Plans Support the Superintendent in quality control: pre-pour, pour-day, and post-pour inspections via Pronovos Maintain as-built records and report discrepancies promptly Work with the PM on slab finish plan and QC that plan on pour day Be involved in the Foreman's morning meeting; plan and prepare for the next day's activities Lead stretch-and-flex and enforce PPE compliance Enforce daily cleanup and maintain organized work areas Keep track of calibrations (total station, levels, lasers, etc.), drawing updates, and material orders Handle and understand GC observations through email, Procore, etc.

At the Superintendent's discretion, assist in concrete/pump ordering and pump setup Assist in production work when layout tasks are limited Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of field experience in commercial/structural concrete Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to manage small crews Strong knowledge of structural concrete formwork and reshore systems Ability to read and interpret contract documents, RFIs, and shop drawings Basic knowledge of layout instruments (laser level, total station, builders level, etc.) Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and Bluebeam Familiarity with Pronovos QC documentation Effective verbal and written communication in English (30%+ proficiency required)

Compensation and Benefits Include:
Hourly Rate
  • $35•$44 (DOE) Excellent Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits; 100% of premiums covered by company for Team Member.
