Blaster Operator Rockford, IL 61102 $20 an hour - Full-time $20 an hour - Full-time Job Summary Liebovich Steel & Aluminum Company is one of the most comprehensive metals service centers in the Midwest providing an expansive inventory of ferrous, non-ferrous steel, aluminum and coiled metals and a full range of metals processing, all delivered in an expedient, efficient manner. Our goal is to exceed our customers' expectations. We are seeking a professional, organized, and dependable Blaster Operator to join our team on 1st shift Mon-Fri, 6:00am-3:30pm. Duties Set up and operate machine to shot blast material to customers' specifications by performing the following duties: Reads production order for product specifications per customer's request. Inspects machine on a daily basis. Follow all safety and housekeeping rules. Able to run crane, overhead and jib style. Conduct thorough safety inspections before, during, and after blasting operations to ensure compliance with safety protocols. Coordinate with team members to execute blast plans accurately while maintaining clear communication throughout the process. Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to assist in site preparation and post-blast cleanup. Experience Proven experience in industrial blasting operations or related fields Knowledge of mechanical systems, fabrication processes, and the use of hand tools and power tools. Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other heavy machinery preferred. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and use basic math for measurements and calculations. Background in warehouse operations or materials handling is advantageous.
