A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TOOLROOM GRINDER
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
- Operate machine tools such as surface grinders, OD/ID grinders and CNC Jig grinders.
- Assemble and fit parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
- Test completed tools and dies to ensure they meet specifications.
- Inspect and measure completed products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair tools, trim dies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in tool and die making is preferred.
- Experience with machine tools and precision measurement instruments.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience with machine grinders.
