We are a super abrasive specialist that provides custom cutting, polishing and grinding tools to multiple industries. It is our policy to fully satisfy our customers' needs and expectations on an on-going basis.
Position Summary :
The Metal Bond Technician - Grade 2 is responsible for the final machining and/or grinding of metal bond products. This includes turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and polishing operations. The technician must maintain high standards of quality and safety, ensure proper equipment and tooling maintenance, and accurately document production activities. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong mechanical aptitude to meet tight tolerances and productivity goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Read, understand, and follow work orders and engineering drawings. Inspect products using scales, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, comparators, and other precision tools. Operate manual lathes, mills, and various grinding machines. Select appropriate work holding and tooling for optimal productivity. Complete all Metal Bond orders to specification. Achieve dimensional accuracy of ±0.0005" on forms and required geometry. Identify, troubleshoot, and correct noncompliant products. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following procedures and using PPE properly. Meet standard productivity requirements. Accurately report time and material usage in manufacturing systems. Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills:
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles. 3+ years of related experience in machining or grinding. High level of interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in computer applications including Excel, Word, and ERP systems. Excellent attention to detail and sound judgment in quality decisions.
