This role ensures quality production while maintaining strict adherence to safety and process standards. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate hydraulic presses used in composite molding processes (compression molding, resin transfer molding, etc.) Prepare molds and materials, including laying up composite fabrics, preforms, or pre-impregnated materials (prepregs) Apply correct press parameters (pressure, temperature, cure time) based on specifications and work instructions Load molds, align materials, and initiate press cycles Monitor curing and forming processes to ensure proper material bonding and product integrity Demold finished parts and perform trimming or preparation for secondary operations Inspect parts for defects such as voids, delamination, incomplete cure, or dimensional inaccuracies Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of molds, presses, and related tooling Troubleshoot issues related to materials, press performance, or finished part quality Record production data, including cycle times, defects, and output Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA safety standards Required Qualifications Experience operating hydraulic presses or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment Basic understanding of composite materials and processes Ability to read and follow work instructions, process sheets, and technical drawings Familiarity with measuring and inspection tools (calipers, gauges, etc.) Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
