Job Description

RAO Manufacturing is hiring a production team member that will be Grinding & Deburring sheet metal parts. This is a 2nd shift position at our Brooklyn Center facility. Highlights of working at

We manufacture a wide variety of products for industrial & commercial OEM's; from simple sheet metal pieces to large multi-component assemblies. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of parts & products. Some product is simple & some is complex with high visual finish requirements. We are well equipped with a wide range of power and hand tools to ensure quick & accurate grinding work. Our factory is well-lit, air-conditioned and organized. RAO is ISO certified.

Starting Pay:
$23.50•25.35 / hour based on experience + opportunity for quarterly cash bonuses
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Grind & Deburr production parts after laser cutting, welding, or other sheet metal cutting processes. This position will involve grinding in & dressing of welds. Use hand-held pneumatic or motorized power tools to grind product including: DA sanders, 2•5" diameter disc grinders, belt sanders as well as operate some pedestal mounted equipment. Use hand tools & abrasives for final finishing such as files, sandpaper & pads. Produce production batches ranging from 5-500 pieces. Follow work instructions that include a variety of information including written instructions, drawings, pictures, videos and in many cases sample reference parts Work with custom fixtures & hand tools to secure & manipulate parts while grinding. Interface with our company's computer system to track details of your work assignment & progress. Maintain consistently good quality of work: evaluating both visual quality criteria as well as measurable quality criteria. Be able to focus on your assignment & stay on task throughout the day. Must be willing to help with non-grinding work on occasion (less than 5%) including punch press operation, fastener insertion, equipment loading & unloading, or other general factory tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in a factory or other production environment is strongly preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately Able to safely use and lift equipment/materials weighing up to 50 pounds; ability to work standing for 8 hours Reliable and willing to work a 40-hour week (voluntary overtime on occasion)
