Current Role Tenure:
It is preferred that all internal candidates have been in their current role for at least six (6) months.Manager Notification:
It is preferred that all internal candidates notify their manager of their intent to apply for any internal position.Performance Standing:
It is a requirement that all internal candidates applying for any position have performance that is in good standing. The Draw Bench Operator's primary responsibility is to operate the draw bench machine that draws down the diameter and thickness along with lengthening long pieces of copper tube. The draw bench operator processes 20,000 feet of finished copper tube through the machine per shift. The Draw Bench Operator performs the following essential functions: 1. Stands on raised platform to operate push buttons and switches to operate the load rack, kicker, pusher, pinch rollers, roll over, and carriage of the draw bench machine. 2. Stoops and reaches in order to manually place tubes around die for entry into roll over tube (20 times per hour) (requires 5 -10 pound of force). 3. Monitors carriage to make sure tail is properly attached before drawing begins. 4. Uses large pipe wrench to turn tubes to ensure tail is inserted into carriage. Ensures that carriage drops finished tube into the finished stock bunk (wrenches weigh less than 10 pounds). 5. Uses micrometers to perform inspection of sample of finished product at beginning of shift and document production. Labels finished product. 6. Lifts/pushes/pulls and uses pry bar to arrange stock material on the stock table (requires up to 35 pounds of force). 7. Turns power off for changeover. Use large Allen wrench to change two dies an average of 1 time per shift. Dies weigh up to 10 pounds. 8. Uses pipe wrenches to change plugs approximately 1 time per shift. 9. Uses long rod to assist crane operator with removing straps from stock. 10. Keep working area clean and orderly.
