Alpha Metalcraft Group (AMG) Position Summary Alpha Metalcraft Group (AMG) is seeking a skilled Press Set-Up Operator (Die Setter) for our Commack, NY deep draw manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient setup of dies in mechanical and/or hydraulic presses to support production requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and safety. Key Responsibilities Set up and changeover dies in mechanical and hydraulic presses in accordance with production schedules Perform die alignment, shut height adjustments, and ensure proper press setup for optimal performance Troubleshoot setup issues and make necessary adjustments to meet quality and production standards Verify first piece inspections and support in-process quality checks Work closely with supervisors and operators to ensure efficient production flow Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on dies and press equipment Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and company policies Maintain clean and organized work area in accordance with 6S standards Document setups, changes, and any issues or corrective actions taken Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a press set-up technician, die setter, or similar role in a manufacturing environment Experience with deep draw, stamping, or metal forming processes preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and tooling specifications Ability to use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) Forklift experience preferred Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Preferred Qualifications Experience in aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing environments Familiarity with continuous improvement practices (Lean, 6S, TPM) Schedule Full-time, day shift (hours may vary based on production needs) Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly rate based on experience Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability 401(k) with company 3% safe harbor contribution Quarterly Profit Share Bonus Paid Time Off and company holidays Additional Requirements Must be a U.S. Person in accordance with ITAR regulations About AMG Alpha Metalcraft Group is a leading manufacturer serving the Commercial, Medical, Aerospace & Defense industries, with capabilities in deep draw metal forming and electroforming across multiple U.S. facilities. $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
