Job Description
Why This Role Matters Every accurate grind keeps production moving. Join our team to regrind, recondition, and manufacture cutting tools to exacting standards—safely, efficiently, and reliably. What You'll Do Set up CNC grinding equipment to match each work order Grind tools strictly to work instructions Inspect finished tools against prints and quality criteria Return all tooling to proper storage when work is complete Report daily progress to the Shop Supervisor Coach and train teammates as needed Promote MSC culture and alignment across the department Assist with special projects and additional duties Must-Have Background High school diploma or GED Basic math ability Core Competencies Read and interpret blueprints and work orders Inspect tools to print with strong attention to detail Manage multiple tasks without losing accuracy Share knowledge and help train others Where & How You'll Work Approx. 95% of time on the shop floor Occasional overtime may be required Fast-paced environment with firm deadlines Safety hazards are minimal and typical of general shop conditions Training Path First 8 weeks: on-site training with a Tru-Edge associate; all work 100% checked Within 6 months: General Safety Plan, Emergency Action Plan, Fire Safety Plan Tools & Tech CNC Grinder Preferred Proficiencies CNC Tooling CNC Machine Setup & Changeover High School / GED Blueprint Reading Compensation Starting pay: $19.62-$28.77 per hour, determined by candidate location and experience. This range reflects similar roles and local labor markets. Final pay depends on relevant experience, education, and internal pay equity. The Company reserves the right to update the range as market conditions evolve.
