This role requires reading technical blueprints to accurately grind radii, achieve specified surface finishes, deburr edges, and ensure all parts meet strict tolerance standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Operation & Finishing Setup & Calibration:
Prepare finishing equipment by choosing, installing, and aligning the correct tools and machine attachments.
Surface Finishing:
Use handheld and stationary pedestal grinders to grind, polish, and deburr the inner and outer surfaces of machined metal components.
Material Layout:
Follow technical blueprints, shop guidelines, and work orders to layout materials accurately.
Quality Control & Inspection Precision Measurement:
Inspect completed work using precision measuring tools to guarantee full compliance with technical blueprints and engineering specifications.
Damage Assessment:
Evaluate part alignments, bore sizes, welds, and damaged threads or holes to determine necessary corrective actions.
Material Handling & Shop Support Heavy Lifting:
Safely operate overhead hoists, pallet jacks, and forklifts to transport and position heavy materials and parts.
Cross-Functional Support:
Assist with taking apart mechanical components (fluid and power ends) and cross-train in high-pressure autofrettage processes as needed.
Maintenance & Safety:
Keep work areas and machinery clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations. Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including flexibility for overtime or shift work.
Required Qualifications Experience:
At least 6 months of experience in a production or machine operation role within a metal manufacturing setting, including direct experience with metal grinding.
Technical Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude, a solid grasp of basic shop math, and the ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with industrial material layout, general shop practices, and manufacturing safety standards.
Education & Certifications:
High school diploma (or equivalent) preferred; ability to obtain an on-site forklift certification during the training period. #TLS123

$21.00 - $25.00 per hour
