Essential Job Functions Operate machine shop equipment including band saws, belt sanders, blast cabinet, lathes, mills, drill presses and punching equipment where operations are directed by others Deliver parts to other departments with a scooter and/or fork truck Load and unload trucks delivering raw material Mark incoming material with part number and heat code Stock material in raw material racks Load, unload and/or deliver long, heavy and otherwise awkward loads Perform sandblasting operations Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and vehicles Cycle count inventory Assist Material Coordinator in miscellaneous job tasks as directed Spray for weeds in the raw material yard Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position Overtime is a mandatory condition of employment and frequent in this position Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies) Knowledge of Paul Mueller Company general work procedures in regards to marking and tagging material with proper work order number and heat codes as required Basic blueprint reading knowledge Basic math skills Ability to setup and cut different degrees of angles Ability to read a tape measure Strong understanding of safe work practices in regards to fork truck operations Education and Experience HS diploma or GED equivalent preferred Previous Machine Shop experience or related technical training
Base Compensation Range:
$19.50 - $22.25 per hour
Shift Differential:
10%
Variable Compensation Range:
Incentive bonus eligibility up to 12% of gross annual salary base on company performance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposure to conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and high-degree varying seasonal temperatures. Machinery with energy sources including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, or other energy.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, handle, grasp or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Additional effort requirements consist of, but are not limited to, lifting, pushing and pulling material, stairs, and ladders. When there is an occasion to move heavy material greater than 50 pounds, the operator will request assistance from another operator, or utilize provided lifting equipment.
