Role:
The Finishing/Grinder plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by ensuring that metal and other materials are precisely finished to meet exact specifications and quality standards. This position involves operating grinding machines and hand tools to smooth, shape, and polish parts, removing excess material and imperfections. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall product quality and functionality by performing detailed finishing work that supports downstream assembly and customer satisfaction. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount, as the role requires working with potentially hazardous equipment and materials. Ultimately, the Finishing/Grinder ensures that finished components meet both aesthetic and functional requirements, supporting the company's commitment to excellence and reliability.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a grinder or finisher in a manufacturing or metalworking environment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Familiarity with grinding machines, hand tools, and measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in machining or metal finishing. Experience working with CNC grinding machines. Knowledge of different metals and their properties. Basic understanding of quality control processes and standards. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities:
Operate various grinding machines and hand tools to finish metal parts according to blueprints and specifications. Inspect finished products for defects, dimensions, and surface quality using precision measuring instruments. Remove burrs, sharp edges, and excess material to prepare parts for assembly or shipment. Maintain grinding equipment by performing routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments. Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment to ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with quality control and production teams to address any issues related to finishing processes. Document work performed and report any discrepancies or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
