Job Description
Job Summary:
As a Deburr Finishing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that metal components meet high-quality standards. Your primary responsibilities include inspecting metal pieces, removing ragged edges and protrusions, and applying various finishing techniques to produce smooth, high-quality surfaces. Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure that all parts conform to specifications and that safety and quality standards are consistently met. This position will be an afternoon shift. Training on morning shift for a month and then transfer into an afternoon shift with an added shift differential.Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Read and Interpret Travelers:
Follow detailed instructions provided on travelers to ensure correct processing of parts. 2.Inspect Parts:
Examine metal pieces to identify areas needing deburring or finishing. 3.Apply Abrasive Substances:
Use appropriate abrasive materials to remove rough edges and protrusions. 4.Polish, Sand, and Grind:
Utilize various tools to achieve a smooth, polished finish on metal components. 5.Operate Power Tools:
Handle and operate hand and power tools such as die grinders, drill presses, orbital sanders, buffers, and bead blasters. 6. Participate inScheduling:
Collaborate with the team to adhere to manufacturing schedules and meet production needs. 7.Maintain Work Schedule:
Adhere to regular work hours and ensure timely completion of tasks. 8.Perform Preventative Maintenance:
Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal operation. 9.Follow Safety Guidelines:
Adhere to all company safety protocols, including the proper use of safety equipment and adherence to safety procedures. 10.Clean and Inspect Parts:
Clean interior surfaces of holes, remove foreign objects and debris, and inspect parts using gauges, microscopes, and other measuring tools to ensure they meet quality specifications. 11.Team Collaboration:
Function effectively within a team environment, assisting and mentoring less experienced employees as needed. 12.Problem-Solving:
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues that arise during the deburring process. 13.Documentation:
Accurately complete and maintain all relevant paperwork and data entry tasks. Ensure part count and quality records are precise. 14.Process Improvement:
Work with lean manufacturing and engineering teams to document and refine processes for improved quality and productivity. 15.Additional Duties:
Perform other related duties as assigned.Work Environment:
1.Exposure:
The role may involve exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and heat due to the nature of the investment casting environment. 2.Safety Training:
The Company provides necessary safety training and equipment in compliance with applicable laws, industry standards, and company policies.Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience in a deburring or finishing role is preferred.Skills:
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions precisely.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as needed; capability to work in varying environmental conditions.Job Type:
