A high-value stamping line is down due to a damaged die. You arrive, assess, and execute: precise TIG/MIG welds, careful blending and polishing, and a meticulous "spot in" to ensure the repair holds under load. You fabricate a custom tray to stabilize parts, verify fit, and hand the cell back to operations—running at spec. Next week, a new facility and a new challenge. Our teams thrive on complex, high-stakes assignments across the United States. Role Overview This is a fully travel-based position. You will deploy nationwide, remaining on-site for the entire duration of each client's need.
Pay:
$45-$47/hr
Per Diem:
$125-$180/day (location-dependent, tax-free)
Project Length:
Open-ended (typically 6+ months)
Travel Experience:
Preferred, not required
Commitment:
Ability to stay on-site as long as the client requires support Your Core Responsibilities Identify damage and restore dies using TIG and MIG welding Grind, sand, blend, and polish to exact specifications Set up dies, prove out repairs by "spotting in," and fine-tune as needed Fabricate components and accessories for stamping and molding (chutes, trays, racks, clamps) in steel or aluminum Perform basic operations on manual mill, lathe, and drill press What It Takes 5+ years of recent, verifiable experience in die repair (stamping, presses, roto-molding, or related) Hands-on "spotting in" post-repair to confirm quality Command of standard shop tools and precision workmanship Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills Clear communication across all levels of shop personnel Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and urgent production demands Reliable attendance and consistent performance Willingness to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and overtime

Pay, Per Diem, and Extras Daily Per Diem:
$125-$180 (tax-free)
Overtime:
Available based on client demand
Mileage Reimbursement:
$0.725/mile to the job site (paid on first paycheck)
