Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Asbestos Abatement Technician and play a vital role in ensuring safe environments through specialized asbestos removal and remediation processes. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for executing asbestos abatement projects with precision, adhering to strict safety standards, and supporting construction, restoration, and mold remediation efforts. Your expertise will help protect the health of building occupants and the environment while contributing to the successful completion of diverse projects. Responsibilities Perform asbestos abatement procedures in compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations and company safety protocols. Prepare work sites by setting up containment barriers, decontamination units, and proper ventilation systems to prevent fiber release. Remove, encapsulate, or encapsulate asbestos-containing materials safely using approved techniques and tools. Conduct thorough inspections before, during, and after abatement projects to ensure all asbestos materials are properly handled and disposed of according to environmental regulations. Support related construction, restoration, or mold remediation activities by assisting with hazardous material management and site cleanup. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, safety checks, waste disposal logs, and compliance reports for regulatory audits. Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met while prioritizing safety at all times. Skills Knowledge of OSHA standards related to asbestos abatement and hazardous materials handling. Experience in asbestos removal, containment setup, and disposal procedures. Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and protocols. Familiarity with restoration processes including mold remediation techniques. Ability to operate specialized equipment such as HEPA vacuums, negative air machines, and personal protective gear effectively. Excellent attention to detail for conducting inspections and maintaining accurate records. Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and report on project progress.
