Job Description

Typical Responsibilities Conduct on-site lead hazard work (removal, encapsulation, enclosure, or replacement of lead-painted components) Set up containment areas to prevent spread of lead dust Use HEPA-filtered tools and proper work practices Perform wet scraping, chemical stripping, or component removal Clean and clear lead dust using specialized equipment Follow EPA, HUD, OSHA, and state regulations Document work and assist in clearance testing procedures Work Environment Unheated Commercial buildings or garages Renovation and demolition sites Skills Needed Some Knowledge of lead-safe regulations Proper containment and cleanup techniques Ability to read work orders and hazard reports Physical stamina and attention to detail Safety-first mindset 6 months experience preferred but not required Construction or demolition experience preferred but not required Lead Abatement Tech Position Summary The Lead Abatement Technician is responsible for performing specialized work to remove, reduce, or control lead-based paint hazards in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role ensures all abatement activities follow federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA, HUD, and OSHA standards. Key Responsibilities Conduct lead abatement tasks such as removal, enclosure, encapsulation, or replacement of lead-containing materials. Set up containment areas , warning signage, and negative air systems to prevent dust migration. Operate HEPA-equipped tools , vacuums, and other specialized equipment safely. Perform wet methods and other lead-safe work practices to minimize dust. Handle debris, waste packaging, and disposal according to regulatory requirements. Maintain proper documentation , including daily logs, work orders, and safety reports. Follow respiratory and personal protective equipment ( PPE ) requirements, including fit testing and decontamination procedures. Assist with site preparation , cleanup, and final clearance readiness. Communicate with supervisors, inspectors, and clients regarding project progress. Qualifications EPA-certified Lead Abatement Worker or Supervisor required. Additional state or local certifications as applicable. Experience in construction, environmental remediation, or hazardous materials handling preferred. Ability to read and follow technical instructions and safety guidelines. Physically able to lift 50+ pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in confined spaces. Comfortable on lifts and ladders up to 20 FT Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Comfortable working outdoors Key Skills Knowledge of lead-safe regulations Safe equipment operation Containment setup and dust control Hazardous waste handling Problem-solving and communication Teamwork in high-compliance environments Work Environment Residential and Commercial buildings Renovation and demolition sites Public facilities Exposure to cold temperatures, wind, dust, noise, and hazardous materials (with appropriate PPE) Full time 32-40 hours a week. Must pass federal background check Third Shift Sun-Wed 8-10 hours per day
