You'll be responsible for providing in-house Asbestos Abatement services for our customers. This will involve overseeing technicians involved in the preparation, demolition, and clean-up practices required for asbestos jobs. Identify, remove, pack, transport, or dispose of Asbestos containing materials. Specialized training and certification in handling hazardous materials. Summary/Objective As an Asbestos Worker at Archers Asbestos Abatement, you will be responsible for helping put our customers at ease and when possible, remain in their homes. You will also help us restore their homes and give our customers a returned sense of normalcy.
Key Responsibilities :
Site Preparation & Safety:
Prepare work site with containment areas using proper PPE and safety protocols.
Work Site Material Removal & Remediation:
Perform physical tasks related to the removal, packing, and labeling of hazardous materials
Work Site Monitoring & Maintenance:
Evaluate areas for asbestos contamination and safety hazards.
Compliance Monitoring:
Ensure all activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding asbestos handling and disposal.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
Operate tools and equipment necessary for job and ensure they are kept in working order
Waste Management:
Ensure proper disposal of asbestos waste in accordance with regulations, including transportation and documentation.
Qualifications:
Current Asbestos Worker certification in Oregon. Washington certification preferred but not required. Min. 1 Year experience as an Asbestos Worker Service-oriented mindset—actively seeking to assist clients and team members while adjusting actions to meet changing project needs. Strong problem-solving abilities with sound judgment and decision-making skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interactions. Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the team to meet project goals. Experience with water, fire, mold, or other restoration projects is preferred.
Required Experience:
Current Asbestos Worker certification in Oregon. Min. 1 Year experience as an Asbestos Worker Valid driver's license
Schedule:
This position is full-time (40 hours) with a 7:30 AM start time. Due to the nature of our industry, some overtime, weekend and after hours may be required.
Location:
In-person at our office located near Bridgeport Village. No remote work is available.
Dress code policy:
Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment Uniform must be worn and must be clean without cuts, holes or stains. Uniform shirt must be tucked in at all times Badge must be worn and visible at all times. Clean and professional appearance. (i.e. shaving facial hair, combing hair, no strong perfume or colognes) Physical demands: This role requires working in close physical proximity to others indoors, as well as working outdoors in all weather conditions. It involves sitting and standing for extended periods.
