Site Superintendent for the leading regional demolition and asbestos contractor. Licensed Asbestos Abatement supervisor. Running RCI job sites and crews safely and effectively while working alongside the region's premier GCs. What You Will Own Drive our projects safely, effectively, on time, and on budget. Proactively communicate and lead forward. Attentive to our clients' needs, specifications, and standards. On asbestos projects (primary): Serve as the on-site competent person for the active abatement project under
OSHA 1926.1101, NESHAP, NC
DHHS, and SCDES regulations Set up and verify containment, negative air, decontamination units, and critical barriers per project specifications Direct the abatement crew through the Foreman; conduct daily PTPs, JHAs, and toolbox talks; verify PPE and respirator fit-test currency Manage waste handling, labeling, manifesting, and disposal through licensed facilities Coordinate with third-party air monitoring and clearance testing; close out the project with a clean clearance package Interface with general contractors, project owners, inspectors, and other trades as RCI's project-level point of contact Exercise stop-work authority unconditionally. Report incidents, near misses, or concerns immediately to Fernando On demolition projects (when not in abatement): Run RCI demolition projects as the site superintendent — scheduling, logistics, crew direction, GC interface, daily reporting Plan equipment mobilization, hauling, and disposal schedules Maintain RCI's safety and quality standards across the demo crew Across both: Plan your work before it starts. Build a credible schedule, hold yourself and your crew to it, and surface schedule risk early — RCI does not chase reports on Friday afternoon Communicate clearly and proactively. Brief Fernando before issues turn into problems Review and verify daily field logs and crew hours; submit weekly project status updates Mentor and develop Foremen and Crew Leaders; participate in RCI's corrective-action framework when needed Coordinate with the Safety Director on training, incident follow-up, and corrective actions What You Need Required A current Asbestos Supervisor license in North Carolina OR South Carolina. If you hold one, RCI supports the path to the other — we'll pay for testing, training, and recertification, and we expect you to obtain the second state's license on a reasonable timeline after start. Holding both at start is ideal but not required. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification (RCI training available) Current medical clearance and respiratory fit test (or willingness to complete prior to start) Minimum 5 years of asbestos abatement experience, including at least 2 years running a crew or running a site as the on-site authority Strong working knowledge of EPA, OSHA 1926.1101, NESHAP, NC
DHHS, and SCDES regulations Ability to read project specs and identify hazmat scope buried in spec sections (not just architectural drawings) Strong planning skills. You build a real schedule, hit it, and surface risk early Strong communication skills. You can brief a GC superintendent, a state inspector, and your own crew without losing the room Self-directed work ethic. You report to Fernando Lobo (President / Director of Field Operations) — his own background is in asbestos abatement. You'll also have direct access to Drew Weinstock (CEO) and the executive team. Decisions get made fast. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to wear full respiratory protection and disposable suits in high-temperature, confined environments during site walks and crew direction Ability to traverse active construction and demolition sites on foot, including uneven terrain, stairs, and ladders Regularly travel between multiple job sites by vehicle during the workday Outdoor and indoor work exposure including heat, cold, dust, noise, and regulated materials (controlled through PPE and decontamination protocols) Occasionally lift or carry materials and equipment up to 50 lbs Must pass medical clearance, pulmonary function tests, and annual fitness-for-duty assessments Travel to project sites throughout North Carolina and South Carolina; occasional overnight travel for distant projects RCI Demolition is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
