Our strategically located service centers are staffed with a diverse team of response professionals, from laborers to experienced management, ready to respond swiftly to environmental incidents and restoration needs. Job Overview We are seeking motivated and dependable individuals to join our team as Entry Level HAZMAT Trainees on a part-time, on-call basis. This paid training position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in hazardous materials handling and environmental restoration. The role is based in Newport News and is ideal for candidates interested in starting a career within the restoration industry, with a focus on safety, environmental compliance, and technical skills. Duties Assist with cleaning and decontamination procedures during environmental response operations. Support fire restoration, water damage restoration, and mold remediation projects under supervision. Learn to operate hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment used in restoration tasks. Participate in asbestos abatement activities following safety protocols and industry standards. Help maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored. Follow safety guidelines diligently to ensure personal safety and that of team members during all operations. Support the team in performing construction-related tasks as needed during restoration projects. Experience No prior experience is required; however, familiarity with the following skills is advantageous: Cleaning techniques and equipment operation Fire or water damage restoration processes Mold remediation methods and safety practices Use of hand tools and power tools in construction or maintenance settings Basic understanding of the restoration industry standards and safety regulations Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new skills. Experience in construction, carpet cleaning, asbestos abatement, or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
