Production Manager Classification:
Hourly Non-Exempt (paid overtime) General Responsible for performing advanced heat treating operations to meet production requirements. Ensures quality and quantity standards are achieved through proper operation of equipment and adherence to established processes. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) High school diploma or equivalent required. Demonstrated proficiency in performing all Class A, Class B, and Class C Heat Treat Operator essential duties. Strong understanding of heat treat processes, equipment, and quality requirements. Essential Duties Perform all duties of a Class A Heat Treat Operator in accordance with established procedures and specifications. Set up, operate, and monitor heat treat equipment to ensure proper processing of materials. Verify production requirements, including specifications, quantities, and due dates. Inspect work and monitor process output to ensure compliance with quality standards. Record production data accurately, including hours worked and pieces completed for each production order. Assist in maintaining production schedules and meeting customer delivery requirements. Support shipping and receiving activities as needed. Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally from floor to waist while protecting materials from damage. Ability to stand for extended periods, with frequent bending and reaching. Ability to work in a hot environment, including exposure to furnace heat and seasonal temperatures. Ability to walk frequently between work areas and climb stairs occasionally. Mental Requirements Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to understand and follow detailed process instructions. Ability to read and interpret data from gages, alarms, sensors, and related equipment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
