About us Melt'm Jewelry is a small business in Redlands, CA. We are professional and customer-centric. Melt'm Jewelry is a local artisan jewelry workshop in Redlands, California. Melt'm Jewelry is a small business specialized in handmade custom fine jewelry with precious and semi-precious stones. We are looking for a Helper to join our team. Jeweler Helper will learn the business from the ground up, this will entail full administrative responsibilities, including customer service, completing administrative/clerical tasks, tracking of stocks and raw materials, maintenance of the shop, and learning the basics of jewelry making all while s/he trains toward becoming a bench jeweler. While we are seeking candidates with any basic jewelry or jewelry repair knowledge, we will also consider any candidate that has a passion and desire to learn the jeweler trade. We especially welcome individuals with natural handcraft talents and a genuine inclination toward craftsmanship, as these qualities are essential to mastering the art of fine jewelry making. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to gain experience in a variety of areas.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of materials for the jewelry making. Assist in the setup and cleanup of work areas. Provide support to other staff members when needed. Packaging and shipping of the orders Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Follow instructions and safety protocols. Keep the shop's equipment in proper working order, if something brakes down notify the supervisor so that it can be repaired or replaced right away. Inspect shop area for any merchandise or stones and secure in safe at the end of every workday. Provide management with a list of any supplies (melt, hand tools etc.) when it is needed for the shop.

Precious Metal Scrap Collection:

All precious metal scrap from finding, fillings, polishing compound etc. most be collected and held until a melt date has provided been by the supervisor. Keeping inventory of the merchandise in the jeweler's location, this will be regularly scheduled event. (both materials & final product) Ensure jewelry materials (wire, stones, clasps, etc.) and tools are properly maintained & cared for.
