Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Here at Maui Divers Jewelry, you're not only an employee you are a part of our 'ohana. The Bench Jeweler at Maui Divers Jewelry is responsible for providing quality manufactured merchandise, ring sizing and a variety of jewelry repairs. The bench jeweler will be required to do quality work including but not limited, to assembly of items using solder or a laser welder, a variety of stone setting styles, enameling and hinge work. The bench jeweler will be proficient and efficient in all aspects of bench work and producing high quality jewelry. Will also work in all areas (as needed) of the Factory such as Waxing, Casting, Deburring, Tumbling, Polishing, Lapidary, Assembly, Pearl Room and Coordinating Departments.
RESPONSIBILITES
  • To create beautiful jewelries
  • Size rings and repair items often while the customer is waiting
  • Clean and polish jewelry
  • Set various sizes and shapes of stones for production, stock or customer repairs
  • Solder, laser and assemble production jewelry items
  • Pearl gluing and stringing
  • Enamel various customer repairs and production items
  • Flex to other departments for cross-training based on the Manufacturing Skills Matrix
  • Identify workflow needs and communicate with Supervisor
  • Work within assigned deadlines/due dates and team goals
  • Perform other duties requested by top management, Director of Manufacturing and
CEO TOOLS, EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES USED
Wax injector, torch, laser welder, polishing machine, hand tools, rolling mill, electro plating machine, steam machine, ultrasonic, band saw, hand engraving machine, pearl drilling machine, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Highly motivated team player
  • Multi-task, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in oral, written or diagram form
  • Good close vision and depth perception
  • Ability to work in environment with moderate noise level
  • Ability to lift up to 30-50 pounds
  • Must be able to follow safety rules and procedures and perform work in a safe manner
  • Must have steady hands with good eye to hand coordination
  • Must show initiative, drive and flexibility
  • Willingness to learn and must be able to perform work
  • Organizational skills
  • Computer skills is a plus
  • Cross training is practiced throughout the factory

Pay:
From $18.00 per hour
