- Part-time, Full-time Overview Maine Gold & Silver is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Jeweler to join our team.
This position combines expert jewelry craftsmanship with exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is an experienced artisan who takes pride in creating, repairing, restoring, and evaluating fine jewelry while helping customers bring their vision to life. As a Jeweler, you will work directly with customers on custom designs, repairs, restorations, and jewelry purchases. You will play a key role in maintaining our reputation for quality, integrity, and personalized service. Key ResponsibilitiesJewelry Repair & Fabrication Perform jewelry repairs, restorations, sizing, soldering, stone setting, polishing, and other bench work. Design and create custom jewelry pieces according to customer specifications. Restore damaged or worn jewelry while maintaining quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. Ensure all work meets company quality standards and customer expectations. Customer Service & Sales Support Greet customers and provide a welcoming, professional experience. Consult with customers regarding custom designs, repairs, restorations, and jewelry purchases. Educate customers on gemstones, precious metals, jewelry construction, and current design trends. Assist with jewelry sales by recommending products and services that meet customer needs. Build long-term customer relationships through personalized service and expert guidance. Custom Design & Project Management Collaborate with customers to develop custom jewelry concepts that align with their style and budget. Prepare accurate estimates for custom projects and repair work. Communicate timelines, costs, and project details clearly throughout the process. Jewelry Evaluation & Trade-Ins Assess pre-owned jewelry for material content, craftsmanship, condition, and potential value. Assist with customer inquiries regarding selling, trading, or repurposing jewelry. Store Operations Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Assist with jewelry cleaning and polishing to ensure merchandise is presented professionally. Support inventory management, material tracking, and inventory counts. Help maintain displays and contribute to overall store presentation. Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and deliver exceptional customer experiences. Qualifications Previous experience as a bench jeweler, jewelry repair technician, or custom jewelry designer preferred. Strong skills in jewelry fabrication, repair, stone setting, soldering, polishing, and finishing. Ability to evaluate jewelry materials, gemstones, and craftsmanship. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Sales experience in a retail jewelry environment is a plus. Compensation $28.00
