Job Description:
Bellingham Coin Shop is currently seeking an experienced Watch & Jewelry Expert to assist customers with evaluations, appraisals & purchases. The ideal candidate will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge & expertise with jewelry, precious stones & watch analysis/repair.
Responsibilities:
Accurately assess value & quality of customers' jewelry, precious stones & watches. Assess, research & price purchased watches, precious stones & jewelry for retail sale. Perform maintenance & repairs on rare & high-end watches. Process jewelry for refineries. Assist with other evaluations & purchases when appropriate. Monitor and respond to customer inquiries in person, via telephone or staff email. Perform basic cash handling & reconciliation daily. Draft purchase orders & pay customers for items purchased. Contribute to overall shop cleanliness and organization. Maintain a positive & professional attitude when working with customers & team members.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience research & assessment of jewelry, precious stones & watches. GIA certification strongly preferred. Familiarity with other antiques, collectibles, coins & bullion is a plus. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively with customers in challenging scenarios to create a positive experience, regardless of whether or not we make an offer on their items. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Maintain a positive & solutions-oriented mindset when in high pressure or tumultuous situations.
