We install, service, and upgrade commercial door hardware and electronic access control systems for hotels/resorts, college dorms, government facilities, and other places where security really matters. What You'll Do As a Commercial Lock Technician, you'll travel to job sites and perform a mix of mechanical and light electrical work on dormakaba and related commercial door hardware. A typical week might include:
Installing commercial locks: mortise, cylindrical, deadbolt, and tubular lock styles Installing and servicing electrified door hardware — electric strikes, electromagnetic locks, power supplies, keypads, push-buttons, and key switches Updating hardware and software on dormakaba access control systems (System 6000 and Ambiance) Performing warranty repairs and replacements on covered dormakaba products Completing preventative maintenance under dormakaba Service Plan agreements Minor electrical work — tracing wires, troubleshooting low-voltage circuits, and terminating connections Reading door schedules, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions Documenting completed work and communicating professionally with site contacts What We're Looking ForRequired 21 years or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record Willingness and ability to travel across multiple states, including overnight stays Comfortable with minor electrical work — tracing wires, using a multimeter, and working with low-voltage systems Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools, power tools, and drills Able to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders, and stand/kneel for extended periods Reliable, punctual, and professional — you'll be representing Bryant Lock Installation and Dormakaba on every job Able to pass a background check and drug screening Nice to Have (Not Required) Prior experience in locksmithing, electrical, low-voltage, HVAC, carpentry, or a related trade Familiarity with dormakaba, Saflok, BEST, Kaba, or similar commercial door hardware brands Experience with access control systems or security system installation Basic computer skills for software updates and system configuration What We Offer Starting pay of $21/hour with room to grow as you gain experience Company vehicle provided — no need to put miles on your personal vehicle All tools and equipment supplied — you don't need to show up with your own toolkit Travel expenses covered — lodging and mileage handled by us Paid, hands-on training on industry-leading dormakaba products, electronic access control, and service procedures Career path in a stable, growing trade — commercial security is recession-resistant and always in demand Variety — Experience working in the most luxurious hotels/resorts to local boutique properties Who Thrives in This Role This job is a great fit if you're hands-on, curious, and enjoy solving real-world problems.
