Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Locksmith to join our team and ensure the safety, security, and functionality of various facilities. As a Locksmith, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of locking mechanisms, security systems, and electronic access controls. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical expertise and technical knowledge in a fast-paced environment, providing essential security solutions for commercial and residential clients alike. Your hands-on skills and problem-solving abilities will be vital in delivering reliable service that enhances safety and peace of mind. Responsibilities Install, repair, and service mechanical locks, electronic access control systems, CCTV surveillance equipment, fire alarms, sensors, and security hardware across multiple sites. Conduct field service visits to troubleshoot issues with lock mechanisms, security systems, low voltage wiring, cabling, and electrical components. Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and system design documents to ensure precise installation and maintenance. Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to perform lock replacements, system upgrades, or hardware installations. Configure remote access software, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), sensors, CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and telecommunication devices to optimize security coverage. Collaborate with clients during system sales consultations by explaining features of security systems and recommending suitable solutions based on construction or facility needs. Maintain detailed records of service activities, system configurations, inspections, and repairs for compliance and future reference. Qualifications Proven experience as a locksmith or service technician specializing in security systems or electronic access control. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to low voltage wiring and cabling. Familiarity with computer networking concepts relevant to security system integration and remote access software. Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and construction plans accurately. Knowledge of surveillance equipment including CCTV cameras, sensors, alarms, fire alarm systems, and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Hands-on experience with power tools such as drills, saws, screwdrivers along with general hand tools used in lock installation or repair. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex security system issues on-site efficiently.
