Job Description

Locksmith Valiant Integrated Services United States, North Carolina, Fayetteville Jun 09, 2026 Valiant is looking for a Locksmith to join our team! You will be responsible for installs, repairs, modifies, and opens a variety of locking mechanisms found on doors, desks, compartments, mobile equipment, safes, and vaults. Performs the following responsibilities and duties including, but is not limited to, typical examples of services required to be performed by the locksmith.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Installs locking system (e.g., doors, door hardware, closures, panic hardware, changes lock combinations, security bolts, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining facilities in a safe, comfortable, and operating condition. Cuts new or duplicate keys for the purpose of providing the county with a master key system and ensuring security of its facilities. Repairs various items, systems and/or components for the purpose of ensuring the items are available and in safe working condition. Inspects facilities, systems, and their components for the purpose of ensuring safety and identifying necessary repairs and providing an ongoing program of preventive maintenance. Fabricates unique locks and locking devices for the purpose of meeting specialized security problems within the district. Diagnoses malfunctions of security systems for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain systems. Performs minor repair or modifications to door and/or frame for the purpose of ensuring proper closing and security. Re-keys locks and changes combinations for the purpose of ensuring security of facilities. Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently. Maintains tools and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition. Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items. Assists other trades personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma Relevant certificate from a vocational school or job training (preferred)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must maintain a valid state driver license. maintain a safe driving record. Experience with a variety of lockpicking tools and key-cutting hardware. Strong customer service skills. Employees assigned to this position must follow specific drug testing requirements, procedures and consequences of positive alcohol or drug tests Ability to read work orders, logs, diagrams, blueprints, schematics, etc. Prepare activity logs and reports according to prescribed formats. Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form. Ability to inspect items for proper length, width, and shape. Must be able to read write and communicate fluently in English
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Related experience in carpentry, preventative maintenance, or electrical work is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires the ability to climb and maneuver on ladders, scaffolding, and/or in tight spaces. Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes rapidly and accurately in using hand tools.
