Previous locksmithing and door installation experience is a plus, but it is not required . We are willing to train the right candidate and prefer to develop skills in-house. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the trade or for an experienced locksmith seeking a long-term position. Responsibilities Locksmithing Responsibilities Cut and duplicate keys Master Key, Rekey, repair, and install locks (mortise, cylindrical, high-security, etc.) Diagnose and repair lock failures (mechanical or electronic) Perform lockouts for doors, desks, cabinets, and other hardware Service, open and install safes Installation & Technical Responsibilities Install and adjust doors, frames, and door hardware (hinges, closers, panic bars, levers, deadbolts, electric strikes, etc.) Diagnose security issues and determine appropriate hardware replacement and upgrades. Install and troubleshoot access control components (card readers, maglocks, keypads etc.) Perform routine maintenance on door and hardware systems Ensure all installations meet OSHA safety, building, and fire code standards • Read and interpret blueprints and hardware schedules to ensure accurate installations. Measure openings and verify correct hardware placement. Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively. Customer Service & Field Work Travel to job sites to complete work orders Communicate professionally with customers about issues and solutions Provide accurate documentation, such as service notes and time tracking Other General Duties Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle Uphold all OSHA and jobsite safety procedures Support other technicians as needed "Other duties as assigned" depending on company needs (e.g., shop work, inventory, minor repairs) Ability to travel - Some overnight travel required. Assists in creating a positive and supportive work environment; enforces a safe workplace; establishes a culture of teamwork and communication; creates a workplace that promotes organizational values.
Ability to:
Must be Detail oriented Able to stand for extended periods. Work in both indoor and outdoor environments in variety of conditions. Routinely lift 50 lbs. or more. Work in a busy, fast paced environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; Technical Certification preferred. Highly self-motivated and goal oriented. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Excellent time management, attention to detail and communication skills both written and verbal. Knowledge of hand and power tools. Preferred Experience - but not required Prior locksmith certification or training Prior door & door hardware installation experience Familiarity with commercial hardware brands and integrated access systems. Experience in reading blueprints or door schedules. Conditions of Employment Requires successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen before hire date. Background checks are required. This position may require a Non-Compete and Non-Disclosure Agreement.
