Birdon America, Inc. is seeking a CNC Machinists to join our growing team at our Bayou La Batre, Alabama shipyard. This is a great opportunity for you to provide your knowledge and skills to a growing company in building a new Coast Guard vessel.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Excellent math skills and mechanical aptitude. Ability to operate CNC burn table machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools. Excellent problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills Ability to operate equipment safely and comply with all safety standards. Demonstrates strong work ethic. Demonstrates consistency in quality of work with minimal to no discrepancies.

Qualifications / Skills

Experience:

3 to 5 years of experience in the ship/boat building industry as a CNC burn table operator. Must be able to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc. Basic understanding of computer programming and AutoCAD and nesting of cut parts. Perform basic maintenance on CNC Plasma table and torches. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks.
