Full Job Description Duties/Responsibilities:
Interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine the sequence of operations for the fabrication of machine parts and die components. Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of conventional and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools to cut, turn, mill, plane, drill, bore, grind or otherwise shape a work piece to prescribed dimensions and finish. May program and operate CNC machine tools. Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as feeds and speeds, coolant flow and depth of cut. Verify conformance of finished work piece and assemblies to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges and calipers. Finish grinding of die components to .0005 of tolerance. Heat treats machined components to required specifications. Follow all safety and environmental regulations. Other related duties as required.
Education/Knowledge:
High school or general equivalent diploma (GED) and a machinist apprenticeship training certificate.
Experience:
Five or more years of progressive machining experience.
Skills:
Requires knowledge of machining practices and techniques, basic mechanical principals, and shop mathematics, set ups, tooling applications, material properties, operating methods. Position requires analytical thinking, the ability to work under pressure, the ability to multitask, be mechanically inclined, detail oriented, quality minded, goal oriented, and being able to work in a team environment.
Machines/Tools/Equipment/Work Aids:
Which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position. Dies, Lathes, Mills, Grinders, Shapers, Drills, Saws.
Licenses Required:
Machinist Certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Physical activities that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job which requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop and crouch, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, talk, hear, and see. The employee is required to exert enough force to lift over 60 pounds frequently and/or 25 to 60 pounds occasionally and/or 5 to 25 pounds continuously from floor to waist and move a distance of 5 to 50 feet. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be able to maintain a level state of alertness while performing this job.

Job Summary:
Plan and perform precision machine and bench work in the maintenance, repair, alteration, and fabrication of machinery, i.e. stamping presses, roll mill lines, polishing equipment, ball bearing machines, individual machine parts and die components. Design and fabricate quality, production fixtures and machine guards. Provide machining support for CNC production tooling and miscellaneous production products.
