Job Description
CNC Machinist
The Pell City location is the companys primary manufacturing hub, supporting CNC machining, fabrication, assembly, and quality operations. This facility operates advanced CNC equipment, including DMG Mori machines, to produce precision-machined components critical to conveyor system performance. Operations leadership at this site is focused on machining efficiency, quality consistency, equipment uptime, and safe production practices.
The organization serves customers across industries such as aggregates, mining, cement, coal and power generation, pulp and paper, steel, port operations, and bulk material handling, where reliability and durability are essential.
The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and supporting CNC machining operations on DMG Mori equipment to produce high-quality parts safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC machines, including DMG Mori mills and mill-turn equipment, to manufacture precision components according to prints and specifications.
Load tools, set offsets, verify programs, and make adjustments to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
Monitor machining processes, inspect parts using precision measuring tools, and maintain tight tolerances throughout production runs.
Perform basic troubleshooting related to tooling, setups, machine performance, and part quality issues.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company safety procedures and quality standards.
Required and Preferred QualificationsHands-on experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing or machining environment; experience with DMG Mori equipment strongly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and machining specifications.
Proficiency using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to inspect machined parts.
Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to producing quality work.
Nice to have: Experience with multi-axis machining, mill-turn operations, basic program edits at the machine, or prior work in heavy industrial or conveyor component manufacturing.
