The Machine Builder also constructs machines using various hand tools and power tools. Fast-paced, team-oriented, highly organized, detailed-oriented, and top-notch communication skills are all descriptors of the ideal candidate to fill this role. Previous experience building industrial control panels, and industrial machines is required. Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Analyzes blue prints and specifications. Verifies conformance of components to the bill of material. Aligns components for assembly. Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts. Tests operations of assemblies. Assembles, sets up and operates machine for tryout. Lays out hole locations and drills and taps holes for assembly. Verifies conformance of components to customer's specifications. Uses precise measuring tools. Knowledge of various hand tools. Determines cause of malfunctions. Has disposition authority on rejects and rework. May require machining, designing, and toolmaking knowledge. May communicate with machine designers during conceptualization and development of details. May communicate with customers as needed. May authorize drawing changes during fabrication and assembly. The ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics. Understand I/O schematics. Plumb pneumatic circuits and perform low voltage system I/O systems checks.
