The Machine Builder also constructs machines using various hand tools and power tools. Fast-paced, team-oriented, highly organized, detailed-oriented, and top-notch communication skills are all descriptors of the ideal candidate to fill this role. Previous experience building industrial control panels, and industrial machines is required. Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Analyzes blue prints and specifications. Verifies conformance of components to the bill of material. Aligns components for assembly. Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts. Tests operations of assemblies. Assembles, sets up and operates machine for tryout. Lays out hole locations and drills and taps holes for assembly. Verifies conformance of components to customer's specifications. Uses precise measuring tools. Knowledge of various hand tools. Determines cause of malfunctions. Has disposition authority on rejects and rework. May require machining, designing, and toolmaking knowledge. May communicate with machine designers during conceptualization and development of details. May communicate with customers as needed. May authorize drawing changes during fabrication and assembly. The ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics. Understand I/O schematics. Plumb pneumatic circuits and perform low voltage system I/O systems checks. Self-driven and the ability to work independently Strong written and verbal communication/ interaction skills Exceptional documentation skills Good time management Travel is required Qualifications Self-driven and the ability to work independently Strong written and verbal communication/ interaction skills Exceptional documentation skills Work in standing position continuously Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects High School and Vocational Technical School 3-9 years of work experience
