Overview Looking for a CNC machinist with 10+ years of experience on vertical CNC milling with Fadal VMC and other VMC equipment. Program, setup and adjust automatic CNC production equipment to produce quality parts meeting precision dimension specifications. Must be able to measure, examine, qualify dimensions and test completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications. Applicant needs to have an understanding of CNC programming in Mastercam with a minimum of 1-2 years experience and the ability to make simple edits in G-Code. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines. Monitor the feed and speed of machines during process. Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work. Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs. Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency. Install repaired parts into equipment, or install new equipment. Basic knowledge of tool room equipment. Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter. Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange technical information. Read and interpret specifications on part prints. The individual identifies and resolves issues in a timely manner and gathers information skillfully. Capable of trouble shooting to work through issues on machines. Duties Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathes and milling machines, primarily using Fanuc controls. Write, modify, and optimize CNC programs utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to improve production efficiency. Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to ensure precise manufacturing. Perform precise measurements with tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions within tight tolerances. Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment and perform inspections using precision measuring instruments to uphold quality standards. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and tooling to assemble components or prepare materials for machining processes. Follow lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste, optimize workflow, and enhance productivity across operations. Support additional tasks such as welding, plastics injection molding setups, or assembly work as needed to meet production goals. Experience Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathes or milling machines in a manufacturing environment. 2-3 years in Mastercam. Attention to detail. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages like G-code and M-code; experience with CAM programming is highly desirable. Familiarity with reading blueprints, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings for accurate part fabrication. Hands-on experience with precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs. Mechanical aptitude with solid knowledge of tooling setup, machine calibration, and troubleshooting techniques. Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, forklifts (certification preferred), and other manufacturing equipment.
