Non-Exempt Position Summary The Machinist works closely with machine shop programmers and engineers to ensure all fabricated parts and newly designed components are produced to required quality and performance standards. This role is responsible for machine set-ups, running parts, in- process inspection, and supporting continuous improvement within the machine shop. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Complete machine set-ups independently without assistance. Perform all phases of part operations, including set-up through first article acceptance. Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data to determine appropriate machine tools, work holding, cutter selection, speeds, and feed rates. Perform and maintain accurate in-process inspections and quality documentation. Use indicators, gauges, and plate inspection methods for fixture pick-up, first article inspection, and in-process inspection of precision machined parts. Identify and recommend process improvements that reduce part quality variation. Input production and inspection data into visual management tools and communicate results to management. Support continuous improvement initiatives and help eliminate waste in machining processes. Participate in internal training as required to perform job duties effectively. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications U.S. Person status required due to export control regulations. High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1+ year of MasterCam experience. Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and quality requirements. Understanding of machine tool clearances, fixture offsets, and cutting tool offsets. Ability to use indicators, gauges, and inspection plates for precision measurement. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with production and engineering teams. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Ability to work periodic mandatory overtime and weekends as required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

$27.43 - $37.00 per hour
