Job Description:
DPP is seeking a Milling Machine Machinist 2 for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing industry.
Work location: Onsite in Palmdale, CA
Work schedule: 4x10, Monday - Thursday

Position summary:
The Milling Machine Machinist 2 supports the PMC department by:
Sets up and operates manual or universal, horizontal, or vertical milling machines to perform machining operations such as compound angles and contours, boring compound angular holes, doing helical and spiral milling; serrating; and gear, spline, and keyway cutting to exacting tolerances.
Selects, mounts, and aligns various specialized machine attachments and standard or improvised tooling, plans sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup, determines, sets, and adjusts speeds, feeds, and depth of cut.
Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
Uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Makes standard shop computations. Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Fabrication of parts, assemblies, installations, and repair of production metal products using HAAS 3 and 5 axis mill machines
Operate under restrictive policies regarding FOE (Foreign Object Debris), clean as you go, and housekeeping.
Adhere to safety policies not limited to safety glasses. Proper PPE (personal protective equipment), and hazardous waste requirements Responsibilities:
Sets up and operates plain or universal, horizontal, or vertical milling machines to perform machining operations such as compound angles and contours; boring compound angular holes; doing helical and spiral milling; serrating; and gear, spline, and keyway cutting to exacting tolerances.

May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Basic qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years related machining experience in an aerospace, military, or manufacturing environment.
Experience in programing and operating a 3 axis and/or 5 axis CNC machine (with simultaneous movements)
Experience in Mastercam or related Cam software
Experience in GD&T in design and manufacturing process
Ability to design and create customized fixtures and tooling for jobs
This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces
Ability to pass a new hire Physical.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs. U.S. Citizenship required for clearance. Preferred qualifications:
Experience in programing and operating a 3 axis and/or 5 axis CNC machine (with simultaneous movements)
Experience in Mastercam or related Cam software
Experience in GD&T in design and manufacturing process
Ability to design and create customized fixtures and tooling for jobs
Experience working in an Aviation Rapid Prototype and/or Experimental Fabrication Environment
Experience using NX or CAD modeling programs
Experience working from Composites, Al, Ti, and Inconel
Active U.S. Government Secret level clearance last investigated within 5 1/2 years.
Experience with Aerospace Parts
Experience in a team environment
Innovative and self-motivated
Knowledge of ERP/SAP
Experience with utilizing Siemens NX/CATIA CAD
