Job Description

The Lathe Operator role requires the following capabilities: Operate production and inspection equipment in accordance with SOPs and Work Instructions to meet quality standards. Set up and perform lathe operations (facing cores, turning OD, boring holes) with proper tool selection and speeds/feeds. Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, protractors) and read CAD drawings/prints to verify specifications. Perform finishing work with required quality sign-offs from inspector or supervisor. Operate PIV equipment (e.g., hoists) safely and support large wheel core handling and inventory activities. Maintain tools (including sharpening) and complete routine equipment tasks such as end-of-day oiling. Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and maintain accurate inspection and shop order documentation. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, Winterthur Technologies requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or higher. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience operating lathe machinery in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret basic CAD drawings/prints with demonstrated accuracy. Basic math proficiency, including measurement calculations (e.g., decimals, fractions, tolerances). Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and follow written/verbal instructions.
Pay:
From $21.13 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
