Full Job Description Job Title:
CNC Technician Job Summary The Junior CNC Technician supports the setup, operation, and maintenance of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines used in manufacturing of powdered metal components. This entry-level role involves interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring parts are produced to precise specifications. Key Responsibilities Assist in setting up CNC machines, including loading tools and materials Operate CNC equipment such as mills and lathes Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders Measure and inspect parts using precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning Monitor machine operations and report any issues or defects Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment Support troubleshooting and minor adjustments to CNC programs Document production data and maintain records as required Required Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred) Basic understanding of machining or manufacturing processes Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Familiarity with hand tools and measuring instruments Strong attention to detail and accuracy Basic math skills (fractions, measurements, conversions) Willingness to learn CNC programming Good communication and teamwork skills Experience with CNC machines (internship or entry-level work) Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory) Certification in CNC machining or manufacturing technology Familiarity with CAD/CAM software Knowledge of G-code and M-code basics Working Conditions Manufacturing or workshop environment Must be able to lift up to 50# Standing for extended periods Exposure to machine noise and metalworking equipment Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Note This position requires access to ITAR-controlled technical data.
