POSITION SUMMARY A
Junior Machinist Operator (Helper/Assistant) assists skilled machine operators in manufacturing by performing tasks like loading materials, monitoring equipment, performing quality checks, maintaining a clean work area, and assisting with basic maintenance and setup to ensure efficient and safe production processes.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to work to specific deadlines and ensure that daily machining targets are met and / or exceeded. Complete and comply with all documentation as required in the process, i.e. Work Instructions. Use basic measurement devices to ensure part quality and conformance. Assist Machinist in machine setup and daily maintenance of equipment. Follow all health, safety & environmental rules and procedures and participate in safety and environmental activities to improve the workplace for all employees. Maintain clean workspace.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
As a Helper/Assistant for Research and Development, the individual will be responsible for assisting the Engineering team in setup, testing and data recording. The individual will help with safety activities, testing monitoring and fire watch. Will help with shipping and receiving in the loading dock area. Ensure that all duties are carried out in a safe manner. Perform computer applications as required. Performs other related duties, as assigned. Perform all duties assigned by the Senior Machinist.
REQUIREMENTS
At least 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment. Experienced with basic hand tools and measuring devices. Must be strong in both development and implementation skills. Strong mechanical knowledge. Strong communications skills. Strong quality ethos.
