(JCMI) is a manufacturing facility located in Lakeland, Florida. Founded in 1967, JCMI, primarily manufactures precision components for the aerospace, defense, firearm, oil and gas, medical, robotic, electronic, food packaging, bottling, chemical and phosphate industries. Our Team is comprised of highly skilled members who specialize in the manufacturing and finishing of close tolerance machined components and assemblies from all types of materials including titanium, stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, composites and exotic alloys. Our company focuses on the use of cutting-edge technology and manufacturing processes to maximize customer satisfaction and product quality. We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our 1st shift. The current schedule is 05:30AM to 04:00PM Monday to Thursday with opportunity for overtime. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in CNC machining.
Required Skills:
Attention to detail. Proficient use of standard metrology equipment for inspection Proficient use of CNC equipment, settings, and maintenance. Understand Engineering drawings/blueprints. Knowledge of CNC terminology. Understand definitions and ability to apply GD&T. Follow work instructions/routers.
Preferred Skills:
General mechanical knowledge. CAM software utilization CNC Lathe set-up and operation. Machine parts according to specifications and blueprints. (Work will be conducted within our air-conditioned shop). Maintain equipment. Read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints to determine project requirements and request assistance from management when requirements/expectations are not fully understood. Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards. Ensure proper tooling selection. Use of metrology equipment for set-up and inspection. Pre-inspection of parts. Manufacture product in accordance with traveler, verbal, and written instructions, prints, and other information. Prioritization of jobs. Deburr and cleaning of parts upon completion. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Determine and report non-conforming output (product) to Quality Department for disposition at the time it is identified. Strive to meet expected goals for set-up and cycle time. Record actual results of set-up and cycle time on traveler or scheduling software. List any reasons for unexpected results or improved performance. Submit first piece for approval and complete step information on traveler. Perform in process inspections as directed. Keep product in a neat and orderly manner for sequential placement during production to aid in identification of potential suspect output (product). Package and/or prepare product for next step per traveler instruction and notify Production Manager at completion. Provide detailed feedback for correction of error or discrepancies of documentation, BOM, routing and/or prints. Clean area to prepare for next job. Report to Supervisor for job task or concerns associated with current task. Perform any necessary task as requested/directed by supervisor or management. (Task may or may not be directly associated with your normal job function. However, we are a TEAM and from time to time another department may require additional resources to complete a job on time. Sometimes these additional tasks may seem menial, but they are required to maintain a constant flow of production and to meet the requirements of our customers. Maintain compliance with the Quality Managements System and
AS9100/ISO9001
standards. All equipment, parts and inventory problems are reported in a timely manner. A negative drug screen is required to qualify for this position. Experience/Education/Skills High School Diploma or equivalent required. On the job training or vocational. Minimum of 2 years production experienced. Programming at panel or experience with a CAM software. •Wage dependent on experience•
