Cnc Machinist Weekend Shift

CNC Machinist (Entry Level) Job Description The CNC Machinist will set up and operate 3-axis CNC lathes and mills to produce high-volume production parts used in the company's finished products. This is a hands-on machining role focused on consistency, quality, and efficiency in a production environment. The operator will select appropriate programs based on production orders and diagrams and perform part inspections to ensure specifications are met. Materials primarily include iron, brass, and stainless steel, with occasional machining of plastic components. Candidates will typically perform 2-3 machine setups per shift , including tooling changes and basic troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC Mills and CNC Lathes (3-axis) Run production machining for high-volume parts Select and load CNC programs based on work instructions and blueprints Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools Perform tooling changes, offsets, and basic adjustments Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams Maintain quality and production standards Required Skills CNC machining experience Blueprint reading Use of calipers and micrometers CNC lathe and mill operation Part inspection Additional Skills & Qualifications CNC setup and changeover experience Manual machining experience (preferred) Understanding of tooling Basic knowledge of G-code and M-code Familiarity with 3-axis machines Schedule 3 rotating 12-hour shifts Friday-Sunday 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM Paid for 40 hours despite working 36 hours Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ocala, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
