In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating precision CNC Swiss lathes to produce high-quality components with tight tolerances. Your expertise in CNC programming, tooling, and mechanical knowledge will drive efficiency and excellence in our production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity for motivated machinists eager to work with advanced equipment and contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC Swiss lathes, primarily Citizen and Miyano models, ensuring optimal machine performance and precision. Develop, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs using CAM software and manual programming techniques to meet detailed specifications. Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to produce accurate parts. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions. Perform routine maintenance on machines, change tooling, and adjust setups to maintain high-quality output. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve machining processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity through lean manufacturing principles. Maintain a clean, safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols involving hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other machinery. Qualifications Proven experience setting up and operating CNC Swiss lathes (Citizen/Miyano preferred) with a strong understanding of CNC programming languages such as Fanuc or similar controls. Knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks or general blueprint reading skills for complex parts. Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining processes including electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding, and tooling selection. Ability to read technical drawings with GD&T specifications accurately. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements. Experience working with CNC milling machines or other manufacturing equipment is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly. Physical ability to lift heavy tooling or parts using hand tools or forklifts when necessary. Join our team if you're passionate about precision manufacturing! We value proactive individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are eager to develop their skills further in a cutting-edge setting.
